pirouttes and pumps
CONGRATS to okiku for getting into MAD hiphop! i'm really proud of you gurl, the routine was a killer and you made it through! :0)
to my dear twins, no worries there's always second intake okay. i know you both are fantastic dancers, so jus don't give up. you guys are one of the main dancers behind guidey performances rmb, and you know SCguides owes opening items and national days to you :D i'm proud of you too.
hahas how i wish SA had hiphop. signed up for dance and cheerleading. and on weds i happily bounded into dance auditions thinking it was hiphop.
hmm. it was really fun actually, even though it was what i would have called ballet of sorts. i don't have an ounce of ballet in me, and i can't piroutte to save my life. nevertheless, when i made some friends there i realised that MANY didnt even have ballet background, and were hiphop junkies like me.
we were split into 4 groups to be taught the syf routine by seniors. the moment it started, i knew i was in for pointe shoes and leotards, not my usual tanktops and baggy cargos. i had a tough time, but then we all had fun cos few in my group were ballerinas! (3 or 4, i think, out of 15).
so yes we all had a good time doing -- trying to do -- double pirouttes and triple turns and -- what-they-call-thems -- alliavates. aleviates. erm something to the effect of "elevate" where we had to tiptoe.
okay so obviously FLUNKED the ballet-jazz part. then they declared with gusto that we were going to do HIPHOP! i was practically bubbling away hoping i could save whatever scraps of my pride and reputation that my "pirouttes" couldn't offer. and then, the routine started, and i almost fainted.
sigh. well i'm exposed to a different type of hiphop where there are pirouttes and turns and pointes. the disappointment on some other faces were obvious too, hahas. in the end i flunked that too! i flunked hiphop!
hee. had great fun anyway, and made new friends. i guess i could stick to cheerleading only, and hopefully i can get in hc after 3 months and join MAD hiphop. its cool :D but its hard cos it seems like hardcore street and hiphop, pumps, pops and all.
just as well. i can handle pumps i hope. better than a piroutte definitely. after weds i had 4 huge blisters -- one was bleeding -- and i wore a double layer of socks to school the next day cos the soles of my feet were raw. i did, i think, a grand total of 50 pirouttes and turns in all. without socks.
but heyy, FUN was the word :0) i wasn't too disappointed in not being selected for syf, it's jus not my cup of tea. i realised watching ballerinas was better for me, since i like ballet movements. for now, i shall stick to my tanktops and baggy pants.

FUNNN
okay bong is really really sorry for not blogging since stuffing herself silly with log cakes and barbequed chicken wings. i am repenting so here i am.
(for my new frens please take note that bong is my nickname and NOT a brand of some toe cream.)
anyway SAJC is totally the funnest thing that could happen to me this year. (as of 3rd jan of course). kidding ok SA orientation was a blast! OG2 is too the bestest OG. till now we are still sticking together while others are dispersing and dissolving into their classes.
as quoted from OGL yijie: OG2, no ordinary OG.
cool OG. we went out for dinner on 2nd day of school, a thurs. friday we went for supper after a disco night with a live band at school. saturday went out for movie. then following mon we went vivo and played dare-or-dare smack in the middle of an intrigued crowd who must have thought us a little dislodged in the head. duh, we are.
the dares were WICKED. krist had to sing-and-declare herself a bimbo and prance around holding a pink fluffball kindly sponsored by fiona. (if you think thats no big, wait till you meet krist.) fiona and dickson had to act out a break-up scene. two guys (cant rmb, sorry!) had to act gay and ask a passerby to take a lovey-dovey pic of them.
me? i had to curtsy, declare myself the dancing queen and do a chunk of our mass dance with joash. the dancing was alright (thanks joash :0)) but the prob was after my vehement outburst that i could piroutte better than margot fonteyn, EVERYONE in the vicinity of 50 metres turned to look at this supposedly tutu-clad ego-inflated girl who can barely pointe.
excellent. this should end my dream dance career.
so. yes. monday. then the rest of the week we ate together, sat together in lectures and hung out. the only times OG2 wasnt one was when we had to split into different classes for class time. on friday some of us went bowling.
need i say more? i shall. our most consistent player was gladys, who by the way is 182cm tall and reduces me to a pinprick when i stand next to her. anw, whether due to her height or not, her score for her first roll was 6. then 6. then 6. then 7,7,7,7,7,7. her lovely end score was i think 12 or 13 cos she bowled down a few pins on her very last roll. so when the ball inched towards the gladys-proof pins without the promise of shying into the gutter rachel blatantly exclaimed, "OMG! look! she's finally gonna hit SOMETHING!!"
hahas. anyway nice try gladys. first timers always love the gutters :0)
others had their own ways of showing gutter-hate. benedict, for one, tossed his bowling ball onto the lane with his devil-may-care attitude probably hoping that the earthquake would fell some pins for him. his bowling ball didnt even need to bother having those 3 finger holes - he just grabs it with the palm of his hand and flings it at the innocent pins. nice one, ben.
yay more fun tmr. having shermin's burfdae lunch at swensen's! to shermin a happy belated burfdae :0)
okiku, vic, nic, kim: i joined dance and cheerleading! hope you guys joined dance too :0) does IB have dance..?
nessa: heyy miss you! miss having you around after spending 8 years in the same school and class as you. see you soon bestie :D
rox: cheer up kay! everything will be alright just do your best :0)
hope all you guys are having a great time. cos i'm having a blast here at SA. dun worry my sanity has not improved - thanks to my dear fren rachel - so bong is still here. we're a hilarious, goofy, nutty, lunatic pair. hope to see all of you soon and go off our rockers as always :D
