pirouttes+pumps+powermoves= :0)))
i'm sorry that after so long since my last post, i have to (want to, actually) blatantly and shamelessly splash this ad of Dancenight on my blog.. XP
MOSAIC - every dancer has a story to tell18th and 19th may, 7.30pmHwa Chong Auditorium$10 per ticketyay.
please come if you are interested! there will be a huge variety of dance - contemporary, jazz, hiphop, break, chinese and more more more - so you won't be stuck with boring renditions of just one type :D
mm hmm. and if u're in doubt, like suspicious that contemp style was slightly modified and passed off as "hiphop" (a personal phobia of mine), rest assured that the hiphoppers are hardcore and we won't be wearing tutus. for living proof feel free to stop me anytime and ask me to piroutte on the spot :P
come look for any MAD-er if you are interested! :0)
went out with GANG to celebrate cailing's burfdae today :D i be lazy so i shall post the pics next time. huggs cailing, happy belated burfdae!!
miss you all very muchhh :P

prac prac prac
dancenight coming up, feeling the effects.
showstopper prac: mondays, wednesdays, saturdays
ms chen routine: thursdays, fridays
i hope my parents can understand.
sigh. home is not a good place to practise. no big mirrors, suitably large free space. unless you count the living room, then people walking along the corridors would have a free show-and-laugh.
hmm.. not a bad idea actually. i can put a container outside and perhaps i could get some extra pocket money :D
a little over a month to dancenight.. chiooonnnngggggg

mad MAD
today a huge load was lifted off me, after i found out that i didnt get into council. sounds funny, but seriously, i was better off without it.
on friday went for Music And Dance (MAD) auditions, hiphop. the routine itself was okay, but we had to learn 4 eights in 10-15 minutes! o.O it didn't help that my memory cells can be counted on the foot of a three-toed sloth.
so lost about 3 quarters of the routine, which obviously wasn't to my favour. then they said if we forgot the steps we could freestyle.. !!.. so i just whipped up some moves to save myself from standing there like a block of wood and looking for all the world nothing like dancer-potential.
thus in my assessment round, all that was left of the original routine was about 1 eights. i was sure my auditions were out the window, and so i kinda emo-ed my weekend away and dreaded monday when the results would be released.
so was obviously shocked to learn yesterday that MAD accepted me in the end. all my life i wanted to be in dance, so was really pleasantly surprised, then ecstatic :D then i wanted to pull out of council now that i had secured a cca, but many others told me to stay and sit it out cos elections were taking place today.
hmm. whole day yesterday was spent warring in my head whether to pull out from council elections or just wait it out, and in the end just decided to wait till today.
so can imagine was super relieved not to get into council. to choose between council and dance is unthinkable torture.. :P
and now can focus all my attention on MAD :0) there are auditions within MAD - all the J1 hiphop gurls - to select dancers for showstopper, and i swear i dun stand a chance, but still gonna try anyway. thriving on hardcore practising to perfection doesn't help me in auditions, ie needing to crash course and perfect a routine in a few minutes. but what more can i ask for? glad to already be in MAD, even if i dun get to do showstopper :D
congrats to all successful councillors! jiayou ok, you'll all make a great council :D
